Responsibilities
Drive a yard jockey from dock to dock
Pick up and deliver trailers to the specified docking area
Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
Load and unload freight
Complete required paperwork and communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) with supervisors and associates
Qualification
Required
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 2 years
Ability to read and write and accurately complete paperwork
Understanding of bills of lading, manifests and freight bills
This job requires the ability to: Walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
Reach (including above your head)
Work for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery
Connect and disconnect a yard jockey
Drive a truck and/or tractor-trailer combination with power steering
Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 100 lbs. occasionally; may also move up to 500 lbs. on wheeled carts
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
6 months of relevant experience
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
