Senior Sales Operations Analyst

The Senior Sales Operations Analyst will partner with various departments to drive retail sales initiatives, own reporting and analytics, and improve processes for strong retail execution.

Responsibilities

Own and maintain standardized reporting, dashboards, and scorecards used by senior leadership to track sales performance and key business metrics
Ensure consistency in data, graphs, formats, and KPIs across all executive-level reporting and presentations
Collect, consolidate, and analyze sales and performance data from all retail partners, synthesizing complex inputs into clear, actionable insights
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across accounts, channels, and products; proactively communicate insights to Sales leadership and cross-functional partners
Support forecasting, S&OP, and performance reporting, including cut reports and other critical financial deliverables
Support day-to-day sales operations to ensure alignment with company and departmental objectives
Partner closely with the VP of Retail Sales and Director(s) of Sales on business planning, new business initiatives, and strategic projects
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product, and IT to support sales execution and decision-making
Support preparation for customer visits, line reviews, and business reviews, including analysis, presentation development, and follow-up actions
Assist with key customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as needed
Maintain and validate accurate pricing by retailer; partner with Finance to ensure pricing, margin, and cost implications are clearly understood and communicated
Reconcile accounts receivable and chargebacks on a monthly basis in partnership with Finance
Forecast gross and net sales, incorporating promotional activity, retailer programs, and supply considerations
Apply strong retail finance and retail math knowledge, including gross vs. net sales, cost structures, margins, and pricing mechanics
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to align on inventory availability, ship dates, product launches, and key initiatives
Maintain working knowledge of supply chain flows, including product movement, relabeling, and lifecycle changes, and reflect these accurately in reporting and forecasts
Support item setup and new retailer onboarding, owning the central product attribute sheet and ensuring data accuracy across systems
Own and enhance analytics and reporting tools, including Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel models
Partner with IT to improve data structure, accessibility, and scalability for reporting and analytics
Build clear, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations that effectively tell the story behind the data
Maintain organized, accurate customer and account documentation on shared drives and systems
Identify and troubleshoot operational bottlenecks (e.g., pricing discrepancies, data gaps, process inefficiencies) and drive solutions through cross-functional collaboration

Required

6+ years of experience in sales operations, sales analytics, or a related role; CPG experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree required
Advanced Excel skills, including analysis, modeling, and reporting
Advanced Power BI experience, with demonstrated ability in dashboard creation, data storytelling, and insight generation
Strong PowerPoint skills; able to independently create clear, polished, executive-level presentations
Strong understanding of retail finance and retail math, including: Gross vs. net sales, Cost structures and margin implications, Pricing mechanics and forecasting
Demonstrated experience forecasting sales and supporting S&OP processes
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to senior stakeholders
Self-directed and comfortable operating independently within tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Solutions-oriented problem solver who takes ownership from issue identification through resolution
Collaborative, relationship-driven team player who builds trust and strong partnerships across Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product, and external partners

Preferred

Experience in a startup or high-growth environment preferred; food, pet, and/or natural products experience a plus
