Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer
Responsibilities
Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case
Talk with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation
Supervise and delegate tasks to the team of legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal assistants
Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
Record and update the status of all case files in the case management system
Settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate and negotiate reasonable agreements
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree and a J.D. degree is required
Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
Proficiency in computers is vital
Experience taking depositions (parties, witnesses, treating physicians, and experts)
Experience with mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
Trial experience (first or second chair)
Experience managing own caseload of 50+ cases
