Responsibilities
Lead an enterprise risk-based audit program that strengthens patient care, financial stewardship, and organizational resilience
Build high-performing teams and partner across the enterprise to drive measurable improvements
Report functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees and administratively to the Chief Financial Officer
Oversee an Internal Audit Department that delivers financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits across inpatient and ambulatory sites
Set the enterprise risk-based audit plan, champion quality improvement, and advance best-in-class methodologies aligned to IIA Standards
Develop talent through coaching, competency-building, and knowledge sharing
Oversee budgeting, staffing, co-source vendor management, and on-time reporting to executive leadership and the Audit Committee
Steward strong internal controls and partner to strengthen revenue-cycle integrity, cybersecurity and privacy controls, and regulatory compliance
Lead investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse with discretion and rigor
Qualification
Required
Experience leading an enterprise risk-based audit program
Ability to build high-performing teams
Experience partnering across the enterprise to drive measurable improvements
Experience in a not-for-profit, Board-governed health system
Knowledge of IIA Standards
Experience overseeing financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits
Experience with data analytics and GRC tools
Ability to set the enterprise risk-based audit plan
Experience in quality improvement and best-in-class methodologies
Ability to develop talent through coaching and knowledge sharing
Experience in budgeting, staffing, and vendor management
Strong internal controls knowledge
Experience in strengthening revenue-cycle integrity, cybersecurity, and privacy controls
Ability to lead investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse
Advanced credentials such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CRMA
