Principal Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

Evaluating MHI proposals for electrical and or software engineering changes
Overseeing electrical component obsolescence issues including associated electrical and software requalification efforts
Providing technical guidance and leadership on review boards
Bringing MHI issues to the Process Materials and Procedures Control Board (PMPCB) and other approval boards
Communicating professionally and respectfully with the MDA customer and with the MHI engineering and business teams
Traveling to Japan for face-to-face meetings with MHI and their suppliers when necessary
Facilitating close coordination with Engineering and Program leadership through quarterly domestic trips

Required

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of demonstrated electrical and/or software engineering experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Experience with circuit board design, software development, hardware and software qualification, and engineering change control processes
Experience writing and evaluating technical proposals
Experience working with ITAR requirements in an international environment
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required on day 1
A valid passport and the availability to travel are important enablers for this work

Preferred

Demonstrated multi-disciplinary engineering experience is preferred
Advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
Prefer to have substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area
