The US Defense Health Agency is seeking a Financial Management Analyst to support the mission of the J-8, Financial Operations Directorate. Responsibilities

Provide auditor requested documentation and lead the auditor through business process walkthroughs to help the auditor understand DHA IT systems, internal controls, and processes
Ensure that the Agency Financial Report (AFR) is compiled according to the standards of OMB Circular A-136,Financial Reporting Requirements
Provide financial accounting analysis for various accounting functions including the review, reconciliation, and correction of errors
Ensure that all DHA internal use software, General Equipment, real property construction-in-progress, and inventory is reported on the Balance Sheet in accordance with all federal accounting and financial reporting standards
Investigate significant quarter-over-quarter financial statement variances
Write and implement corrective action plans to remedy audit cited deficiencies

This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application
One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in preparation of annual year-end financial reports, ensuring accurate revenue and accounts receivable entries, and providing financial program analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
