Professor of Practice (Open Rank) - Cybersecurity
CHEManager International is seeking candidates for a faculty position at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the area of Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and build research programs in cybersecurity, contributing to the department's offerings and research opportunities.

Qualification
Required
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university
Credit will be given for a master's degree from an accredited university, combined with a minimum of five years of significant industry experience in cybersecurity-related policy, law, risk management, and auditing in place of a Ph.D
Candidates for assistant professor of practice must have significant industry experience and a commitment to excellence in teaching and service
Applicants must also have a demonstrated ability (or a well-designed plan) to develop and maintain an active research program and to lead multidisciplinary collaborative projects
A successful candidate must demonstrate having achieved (or a potential to achieve) excellence and balance in teaching, research, and service, collaboration with faculty across disciplines, and an ability to involve undergraduate students as well as graduate students in research activities
Cybersecurity certifications are a definite plus
Texas law requires faculty members whose primary language is not English to demonstrate proficiency in English as determined by a satisfactory paper-based test score of 500 (computer-based of 173 or internet-based of 61) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a satisfactory test score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Preferred
The highest consideration will be given to applicants who have expertise in Cybersecurity, Informatics, and Computer Science
Benefits
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
