Sterling Engineering is seeking a skilled Setter to join their Buffalo Grove facility. This hands-on role involves setting up molds and preparing injection molding machines for overnight production runs, ensuring efficient production operations.

Responsibilities

Set up and start injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment for production runs
Load programs and align automated/robotic systems
Perform visual inspections of product per production specifications
Troubleshoot small to mid-size machine/process issues, escalating as needed
Pull, clean, and set molds; perform color changes and material lot changes
Conduct assembly start-up batches and complete cycle checklists
Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Level 1 on equipment
Follow LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) procedures for safety
Maintain clean, organized workspace and support Lean initiatives
Assist in process improvements and maintain quality, safety, and ISO standards

Qualification

Injection moldingRobotic systemsBasic mechanical skillsPC literacyBasic math skills

Required

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
Stand and walk for 90% of the shift; able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab, and climb
Meet vision requirements for the job

Preferred

Basic mechanical skills and PC literacy
Basic math skills
Injection molding and/or robotic experience a plus
