Rail Equipment Lead

The Rail Equipment Lead is responsible for overseeing maintenance and regulatory compliance planning and execution for bp's North American railcar fleet, ensuring safe and reliable movement of rail shipments.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Ensure fleet compliance with AAR, DOT and FRA regulations
Manage OT-57 and OTMA applications
Management fleet maintenance activities performed by 3rd party providers
Assist in the management of key 3rd Party interfaces including Bourque Logistics and Alltranstek
Work closely with HSSE group to investigate and resolve fleet issues or incidents
Develop annual rail equipment budget including cleaning, lease return, maintenance and regulatory compliance costs
Assist in rail fleet sizing models and lead efforts to improve rail car utilization and reduce equipment costs
Support acquisition, return or swapping (between bp fleets) of leased rail cars

Required

Bachelor's degree
Relevant experience in railcar maintenance

Preferred

Strong working knowledge related to the code of federal regulations, AAR/FRA, and Tankcar specific rules and regulations
Tankcar management experience with both general purpose and pressure cars
Experience in Oil, Gas, Biofuels or similar industry
