Responsibilities
Write proposals to secure new government research funding related to current or future technology areas
Conduct and coordinate scientific and/or product research and development
Management of all program and project components
Coordinate and interact with vendors, sub-contractors, and machine shops as needed
Assist with business analyses for new projects/products and new market opportunities
Participate in marketing activities and product sales processes
Qualification
Required
B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in an engineering or science field with 5+ years of relevant experience (i.e., manufacturing, mechanical and/or other product engineering, product research and development, design engineering)
The ability to be 'hands-on', along with creative problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions, are a must
The ideal candidate must work well in a team environment, collaborating with research engineers and technicians
Must be well organized and be able to communicate extremely well (verbally and written)
Must be able to accurately manage projects to meet project deadlines
Must have a positive and team-oriented attitude
Candidates who show initiative, are anticipatory, and are results-oriented will thrive within this company
Ideal candidates for this position must be able to effectively problem solve, display a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently with general oversight
Preferred
An MBA degree or equivalent business knowledge/experience is a plus
