Associate Attorney

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of personal injury matters under the supervision of senior attorneys
Draft and respond to discovery demands, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission
Prepare and argue motions in state and federal court
Take and defend depositions
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda of law, briefs, and correspondence
Review and analyze medical records, expert reports, and insurance documentation
Communicate directly with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and court staff
Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and drafting opening and closing statements
Attend court conferences, mediations, and arbitrations

Required

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Admission to the New Jersey Bar (or eligible for immediate admission); New York Bar admission is a plus
Strong legal writing and research skills
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and sound professional judgment
A willingness to learn, take ownership of files, and grow within the firm

Preferred

Clerkship experience in the New Jersey Superior Court, Civil Division
Familiarity with New Jersey civil practice, including the Rules of Court, case management, and arbitration/trial procedures
Exposure to personal injury case evaluation, including review of medical records and damage assessments
Federal court experience or admission (or eligibility) to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey
New York Bar admission and/or exposure to New York civil practice
