Responsibilities
Lead communications efforts with contractor and project stakeholders to ensure project quality
Lead and perform detailed records of inspections and test results for project documentation and future reference
Lead, perform, and verify field measurements of completed tasks on the projects for reports, records, and payment
Lead on-site material tests such as soil compaction, aggregate, and concrete
Respond to and resolve any issues with testing equipment or methodologies
Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Assist with organizing and maintaining files for each project, including contracts, reports, and correspondence
Aid in winter education program with teaching classes and educating other staff
Keep abreast of and comply with the latest transportation and construction material regulations
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience as an engineering technician
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Ability to lead a project and a team
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
