Responsibilities

Lead Neurology Budget and Projection Activities and Support Portfolio Prioritization processes
Key business partner for Neurology leadership
Lead budget and projection preparation, develop a deep understanding of study objectives and assumptions so these drivers can be translated into financial forecasts
Perform robust analysis of changes in assumptions to understand and articulate variance drivers
Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization and various geographies to evaluate the Neurology strategic investments
Drive planning of meetings and review with stakeholders so that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met
Partner with TA teams, Commercial and Portfolio Strategy to support Portfolio Prioritization
Provide finance estimates to support governance interactions (e.g. CDOC & APOC)
Participate & present in Neurology leadership team meetings
Maintain an open line of communication with Global Program Leads (GPLs), R&D Finance Leadership, and various other stakeholders
Lead Neurology monthly close activities, including P&L and Balance Sheet analyses, leveraging the Associate Directors R&D Portfolio Analysis colleagues and the Hyderabad team to support delivering on R&D objectives
Analyze and identify root causes for significant variances, through critical and analytical thinking. Demonstrated proficiency in navigating and utilizing financial systems and tools with ease and familiarity
Ensure quarterly finance reviews with study teams include robust dialogue and open and transparent communication so study performance is accurately reflected in financials
Ensure the overall financial controls are designed and operating effectively across the Neurology portfolio
Partner with broader Finance and GDO teams on special projects and improvements

Required

Minimum education of a BS/BA or equivalent is required
Minimum of ten (10) years of finance experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting
Proficiency with U.S. GAAP and general knowledge of business laws and regulations
Ability to prepare and defend financial analyses to support decision making, investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues
Must be able to present concisely and influentially in both oral and written format to all levels of management
Able to use technology to support simplification and standardization of reporting and analysis
Ability to assess available resources, set priorities, and make informed decisions regarding the allocation of resources to various projects, initiatives, and activities, taking into account costs, risks and potential return on investment
The ability to identify and proactively address potential risks and uncertainties within an organization, including the development and implementation of preventive and corrective measures to minimize the impact of the identified risks
