Electrical Power Engineer

Valar Atomics is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and support industrial power distribution systems. This role focuses on the safe and reliable design of electrical infrastructure supporting motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, and critical power systems.

Responsibilities

Design plant power distribution systems, including one-line diagrams and load calculations
Size and specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motor starters, and UPS systems
Perform power system studies (short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, grounding)
Support equipment procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning
Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and applicable utility requirements

Electrical EngineeringPower System AnalysisIndustrial Power SystemsElectrical Drawings InterpretationPower System Analysis ToolsPE License

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience with industrial or commercial power systems
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and equipment specifications
Familiarity with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar)

Preferred

PE license or progress toward licensure
Experience in industrial, process plant, or power-generation environments
