Corporate Counsel - Litigation and Compliance

GamblingCareers.com is seeking a Corporate Counsel to manage the Company’s litigation docket and compliance functions. This role is crucial in protecting the Company’s legal interests while fostering a compliant workplace culture, requiring a robust litigation background and some compliance experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with external and internal legal counsel, as well as business stakeholders
Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation disputes and customer complaints, lawsuits, and arbitration
Evaluate and mitigate legal risks associated with current and potential litigation, including coordination with risk management/insurance
Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
Support and conduct eDiscovery workflows, including preservation, collection, review, production, and vendor management
Support compliance and risk management initiatives, including policy development, training, and internal investigations
Partner with diverse internal business teams (compliance, HR, IT/security, finance, etc.) to proactively identify and mitigate litigation and regulatory risks
Provide proactive legal advice to senior management on litigation and compliance-related issues
Keep abreast of legal developments and industry trends to anticipate potential legal challenges and opportunities

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law
Minimum 8 years of experience in litigation with some experience with compliance
Law firm and in-house experience (including tech industry) highly desirable
Proven ability to manage complex legal matters, to resolve disputes directly, as well as work with external counsel effectively
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to work well under pressure
