Responsibilities
The Financial Counselor provides counseling to patients by explaining insurance benefits and collecting out of pocket costs up front
The Financial Counselor also monitors and reviews past due bills and follow up documents
We are looking for candidates who can identify problem delinquencies and recommend their appropriate disposition
We are looking for an employee who promotes a positive working environment and guest relations
This position will be working with our Out-Patient population
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
At least 2 years of collections experience REQUIRED
Previous experience in follow up with insurance companies, insurance verifications, and prior healthcare experience REQUIRED
High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-volume setting is required
Skill working with computerized accounting or EMR systems REQUIRED
Positive attitude and a team player
Preferred
A working knowledge of insurance terms, reimbursement procedures, medical terminology and hospital services strongly preferred
