Responsibilities
Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a logistics and distribution location
Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobby checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals
Monitor inbound and outbound truck traffic at shipping and receiving areas by confirming appointments, checking documentation, and directing drivers to designated staging and dock areas per site procedures
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders
Conduct regular and random patrols of parking areas, trailer yards, docks, and perimeter points to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations and help to deter unauthorized access
Qualification
Required
Have 2+ years of security-related experience
Be 21+ years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Access control and badge experience is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
Alarm panel experience is preferred
