Responsibilities
Develop and maintain configuration management processes, policies, and standards for AWS environments
Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
Manage configuration consistency across Dev, Test, Stage, and Prod environments
Support CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline
Partner with DevOps teams on deployments, rollbacks, configuration updates, and environment readiness
Design and maintain automated AWS backup solutions aligned with state retention policies
Implement automated patching workflows to maintain security posture
Conduct audits of configuration, patching, backups, and certificate compliance
Manage SSL/TLS certificate installation, renewal, rotation, and validation
Ensure secure communications aligned with state and federal security requirements
Maintain documentation for configuration baselines, IaC standards, and environment changes
Provide training and guidance on Terraform, AWS best practices, patching, backups, and certificates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience
8+ years of configuration management experience
Strong expertise with Terraform and IaC methodologies
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
Experience with cloud backup solutions and automated patching
Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and security best practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
Preferred
Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
AWS and/or Terraform certifications
Experience in state or local government environments
Vendor management or oversight experience
Familiarity with Agile delivery tools
Organizational Change Management (OCM) experience
