Fiscal Specialist
Fairfield County, Ohio is seeking a Fiscal Specialist to join their Board of Developmental Disabilities. The role involves processing payroll, preparing financial documents, and participating in training and communication activities within the agency.

Responsibilities
Processes bi-weekly payroll
This includes verifying employee time records, processing in the computerized time reporting/payroll systems and processing necessary exceptions
Works closely with the Employee Relations Specialist regarding such issues as FMLA, workers’ compensation and leave without pay
Maintains sick, personal and vacation records
Balances to courthouse records bi-weekly
Monitor’s anniversary dates for movement from one accrual rate to another
Manages and processes longevity and attendance incentives
Maintains sick leave donation records and serves as a member of the sick leave donation committee
Works closely with the Employee Relations Specialist regarding new hires, terminations, and position changes
Calculates contract, vacation, and sick payouts due to employees upon separation
Maintains payroll records according to the board’s record retention schedule
Submits all materials to Fairfield County Auditor’s office in manner required and by established deadline
Prepares invoices to various entities for services provided to them by the Board
This includes, but not limited to, local school districts, pre-school tuition, motor fuel tax reimbursement and miscellaneous grants
Prepares monthly account analyses
Accurately completes MAC quarterly salary spreadsheet and insures timely submission
Reviews requisitions against orders entered on the vendor website
Approves, submits and reconciles orders for online/merchant credit vendors
Reviews and process the agency cell phone billing
Maintains users for the Fleet Gas Card account
Serves as a backup for Accounts Payable
Provides/participates in activities internal and external to the agency
Participates in and provides in-service training as may be required
Attends FCBDD meetings as requested and presents fiscal information as needed
Maintains contact with internal and external customers and interacts well with others
Adheres to all rules, regulations, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles related to fiscal operations
Operates office machines including, but not limited to, calculator, adding machine, copier, and fax
Maintains confidentiality of records, information, and program matters
Maintains records and files in an orderly condition
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates degree or higher in Accounting or Business-related field
Current, valid Ohio Driver's license and a driving record acceptable to agency's insurance carrier
May be requested to work abnormal hours based on service needs
Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and computerized accounting systems. Experience in computer setup and operating system troubleshooting
Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in: verbal and written presentation, bookkeeping, organization, time management, handling sensitive and confidential information, public relations and personal intercommunications and problem solving
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
May use personal vehicle to conduct county business
