This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional engineering team to develop battery management features and improve battery control algorithms.

Responsibilities
Collaborate within a cross-functional engineering team to support the development of battery management features
Contribute to battery-related engineering initiatives for passenger vehicles and energy-related products
Collect, review, and analyze laboratory and field data to support development and quality evaluation of battery control systems, with a focus on safety and performance
Assist in the development and improvement of battery control algorithms to enhance system performance and user experience
Work closely with teams across controls, battery cells, embedded software, systems engineering, and vehicle integration to support requirements definition and integration testing
Provide additional support to the Battery Software team as needed
Qualification
Required
Foundational knowledge of battery chemistries such as LFP and NMC
Understanding of battery control concepts and algorithm design principles
Academic or research exposure to battery management systems and electric vehicle powertrains
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and programming languages such as C or C++
Field of study in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at an accredited university
Ability to provide proof of current or upcoming enrollment in a graduate program
Knowledge of electrochemistry and battery modeling techniques
Understanding of vehicle control systems, including motors, onboard charging systems, and thermal management
