Responsibilities
Support database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, and data flow/analysis activities
Evaluate and recommend system improvements, optimizations, and maintenance approaches
Develop both long-term and short-term requirements for database design and administration
Translate requirements and raw data into functional database schemas by creating or updating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; manipulate data into master files
Build database structures that align with overall system architecture and perform trade-off analyses involving data volume, user load, distribution, performance, retention, and security constraints
Develop requirement recommendations for business and IT systems from project initiation through completion-across simple to complex system environments
Utilize queries, tables, ODBC connections, and cloud storage/retrieval methods to support data integration and system development
Qualification
Required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Database Engineer on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
In lieu of a Bachelor's, an additional four (4) years of DBE experience may be substituted
U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
