Senior Data & Modeling Director

Florida Analytics & Data Strategies (Florida ADS) is a Florida-based political analytics and microtargeting firm building permanent, cycle-independent data infrastructure for pro-democracy campaigns. The Senior Data & Modeling Director will serve as the technical architect of the analytics and targeting infrastructure, responsible for designing data collection strategies, modeling voter behavior, and supervising analytics staff.

Political Organization

Responsibilities

Design Florida ADS’s data strategy, including: what voter, demographic, behavioral, geographic, and engagement data is incorporated, how features are engineered for persuasion and turnout analysis, how data is retained legally and compliantly across cycles
Lead development of Florida-specific voter models, particularly for: persuasion vs. turnout likelihood, segmented NPA and moderate voter behavior, geographic and precinct-level variation
Determine when and how to evolve from: descriptive analytics, diagnostic insights, early predictive tools
Establish clear, repeatable methodologies for: voter universe construction, message testing and A/B experimentation, match-back and post-election analysis (aggregate, compliant)
Define how voter universes are structured and deployed to enable: clean test and control comparisons, valid interpretation of digital performance data, differentiation between persuasion and mobilization signals
Ensure models and analytic outputs are interpretable and usable, not black boxes, and that conclusions drawn from digital performance data are appropriately scoped and defensible
Build internal documentation so learning from message testing, targeting, and delivery compounds instead of disappearing after each campaign
Train and mentor data analysts on: pulling targeted voter universes, understanding which variables matter and why, translating political questions into analytic tasks
Teach analysts how to: prepare voter universes for A/B testing, interpret digital and programmatic performance metrics responsibly, distinguish signal from noise in message testing results
Review analyst work for accuracy, rigor, and strategic relevance
Help shape future hiring and skill development as the team grows
Work closely with the CEO and campaign partners to: translate campaign goals into analytic and testing strategies, inform message development, audience construction, and digital targeting decisions, design message tests that generate usable evidence rather than anecdotal results
Advise leadership on: what digital and programmatic performance data can and cannot tell us about persuasion vs. mobilization, when testing results justify scaling, iteration, or strategic shifts, analytic limitations, risks, and tradeoffs given data availability, budget, timing, and compliance constraints, what conclusions Florida ADS will and will not claim based on digital and programmatic data
Serve as a bridge between technical analytics, digital execution, and real-world political strategy
Guide the firm’s phased evolution toward: proprietary Florida-specific modeling informed by accumulated message testing, automated dashboards that integrate targeting, delivery, and learning, in-house analytics and measurement systems tied to digital and programmatic execution
Contribute to long-term IP development that differentiates Florida ADS from national vendors by retaining and refining analytic learning generated through real campaigns and ad delivery over multiple election cycles
Partner with executive leadership to define readiness criteria for expanded modeling, additional hires, and transition points from partner-supported execution to in-house infrastructure
