Marketing and Communications Manager

The Community House is dedicated to inspiring and uplifting the community. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that support the organization's mission and engage audiences.

Civic and Social Organizations

Responsibilities

Partner with the Director of Development (DOD) and Creative Director (CD) to develop and implement TCH’s annual Marketing and Development Plan
Collaborate with the CD to conceptualize and execute targeted marketing campaigns
Participate in team meetings to align communications efforts with organizational priorities
Cofacilitates TCH Marketing Committee and Stage 284 marketing team meetings
Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and copy/editorial standards across all platforms
Develop annual communications goals and KPIs aligned with organizational initiatives
Manage communications workflows, calendars, and project timelines to ensure timely content delivery
Serve as TCH’s lead content creator, writing all copy for:
Social media posts
Press releases
Annual Report
Website and email marketing
Scripts and messaging for fundraising events
Attend TCH events, programs, and Stage 284 productions to generate authentic content and deepen community connections
Represent TCH at public speaking engagements and serve on local committees such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, etc
Serve as a community liaison, ensuring TCH’s mission and impact are clearly communicated to partners and stakeholders
Support donor stewardship by producing impact stories, donor features, and gratitude messaging
Conduct routine program and annual patron surveys, analyze responses, and report on key findings, including Net Promoter Score (NPS), with a focus on improving user experience and engagement
Prepare quarterly communications analytics reports summarizing social media performance, email metrics, website insights, and campaign outcomes
Use data to make recommendations for improving outreach, conversion, and engagement
Monitor communications trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative strategies to bolster the visibility and outreach of TCH
Develop and manage relationships with local media outlets to secure coverage and increase visibility
Hire and coordinate photographers and videographers to document TCH programs and events
Support Creative Director with maintaining and updating written content throughout the TCH website, ensuring content accuracy, accessibility, and SEO best practices
As necessary, develop and maintain core messaging library (for organization as a whole as well as programs), copy and editorial standards
Oversee social media strategy, scheduling, content pillars, and platform analytics
Manage email marketing platform (e.g., Constant Contact), including segmentation and automation workflows
Collaborate with CD to produce short-form videos and reels to enhance digital engagement
Draft crisis communication statements as needed and help manage reputational risks

Required

Proven experience in communications, marketing, or public relations—ideally within a nonprofit, arts, or cultural organization
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms (print, digital, and social)
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
Proficiency with marketing and communications tools, including email platforms, content management systems, and social media management tools
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms)
Ability to learn, adopt, and troubleshoot new technologies quickly
Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed
Consistent positive attitude and commitment to representing TCH with professionalism
Self-starter who is open to feedback and eager to grow
Open-minded, optimistic, and able to problem-solve creatively
Innovative and willing to make suggestions for improvements and efficiency
Appreciation for community building and enthusiasm for TCH's mission

Preferred

Familiarity with the local community and media landscape is a plus
