Service Technician

Robert Dietrick Company is seeking a Service Technician to repair, maintain, and install loading dock equipment, industrial doors, and specialty lifts. The role involves driving to customer sites and ensuring equipment performs to specifications through testing and modifications.

Responsibilities

Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust equipment
Ensures equipment perform to specifications by conducting tests; modifies and fine tunes equipment
Service and maintain equipment per specification
Disassembles or dismantles equipment
Be punctual
Answer requests and concerns about product and service
Plans and facilitates installation and repair of new or refurbished machinery
Conducts safety inspections of equipment
Red Tag equipment that is deemed subpar
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Ability to work with mechanical and electrical components
Basic understanding of how and why electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems work independently or with each other
Basic understanding of why and how a part failed, and how to replace it or repair it
Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment and equipment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High school diploma or high school equivalent required
Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of equipment
Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, service and perform planned maintenance on equipment

Preferred

Vocational school or associate's degree in related field highly preferred
