Responsibilities

Provide professional human resource guidance and support to assigned client agency(s)
Independently manage an engaging and ever evolving caseload, ranging from informal consultations on performance improvement to handling progressive discipline, conducting investigations and processing complaints
Coaching employees and supervisors, writing reports and responding in writing to complex HR situations, investigating complaints, helping management document performance concerns, and consulting with your team on next steps within a case

Required

This position is open to Alaska Residents only
Independently manage an engaging and ever evolving caseload, ranging from informal consultations on performance improvement to handling progressive discipline, conducting investigations and processing complaints
Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately
Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions
Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a brief, clear, and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Accountability, Decision Making, Interpersonal Skills, Influence, Personnel and Human Resources, Problem Solving
Training in human resource management, business administration, or organizational leadership and professional experience in human resources (such as recruitment, payroll, classification and compensation, employee and labor-management relations, employer provided benefit programs, employment law compliance, or employee training) or business administration
At time of interview, please be prepared to provide: Copies of your two (2) most recent performance evaluations. Letters of recommendation from a current or previous supervisor may be substituted
List of three (3) professional references, including a previous supervisor, if not already listed in application
May be to successfully complete background clearance to view and handle personnel matters for employees that work in law enforcement/criminal justice environments (example: CJIS access)
If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application
If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed
Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position
