Responsibilities

The Research Technician will perform complex experimental procedures in one or more areas of work under the supervision of the Principal Investigators and/or higher-level research staff
They will also be required to perform complex statistical calculations and data analysis, prepare PowerPoint presentations and figures for manuscripts, perform library research on specified topics and prepare bibliographies, assist with manuscript and grant proposals preparation

Required

Minimum of Bachelor's in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology, or related
Must have at least 1-2 years of various laboratory and data analysis experience
Experience with molecular biology, cell culture, and in vitro cell-based assays (e.g. cloning, immunohistochemistry, qPCR, western blot, ELISA and microscopy)
Must be proficient with standard computer software (e.g. MS word, excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and data analysis software and willing to learn new programs as needed
Organization, attention to detail, punctuality, and flexibility required
Ability to work independently with limited supervision as required
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a collaborative environment. Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Background in neuroscience or biochemistry preferred
Experience with stem cell culture and differentiation protocols and flow cytometry preferred
Experience with image analysis techniques and programs preferred
