Responsibilities
Providing exceptional customer experiences to our diverse clientele
Processing both business and individual banking transactions
Managing a cash drawer, cross-sells bank services
Responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions
Trial balances cash drawer throughout the day
Balancing and rolling the drawer for the day at close of shift, comparing the balance to the system balance
Reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary
Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required to assist our multilingual customers effectively
Receiving cash and checks for deposit, verifying amounts, looking at endorsements and reviewing checks for possible fraud including holds
Examining cash carefully to guard against counterfeit bills
Cashing checks for customers in accordance with bank policy
Entering transactions into computer system and issuing receipts
Assisting customers with transactions and ATM operations
Providing accurate customer service to include balancing cash drawer throughout the day to reduce and eliminate teller differences
Understanding basic knowledge of deposit and lending products & services
Identifying correct product types through needs-based questioning allowing them to build and deepen customer relationships
Consistently demonstrating knowledge of bank products and services through referring products and services to corresponding business partners, assisting customers on electronic services and entering opportunities into the customer information software
Serving as relief and/or backup teller in other locations of Midland States Bank
Timely completion of all assigned learning activities
Actively participating in weekly huddles and one on one coaching sessions
Demonstrating and modeling Midland States Bank core values that support the bank’s culture
Participating in bank sponsored community activities
Effectively communicating with customers in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear and accurate responses
Translating and interpreting documents and messages as needed
Occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed
May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers
Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualification
Required
Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma
Demonstrated proficiency in both English and Spanish is required
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs)
