Systems Analyst 1
Inova Health is a leading nonprofit healthcare provider in Northern Virginia, and they are seeking a dedicated Systems Analyst 1 to join their team. The role involves maintaining and facilitating implementations of systems and databases to ensure optimum performance of automated systems while managing Information System projects to meet business needs.

Responsibilities
Evaluates requests for service and follows through as evidenced by completion of system evaluation forms and requirements documentation, in accordance with IT documentation standards. Communicates status and closure with vendors and end users through status reports and issues list, and escalates to manager as required in accordance with established policy
Analyzes IT processes and workflow to identify alternative system or technology solutions. Provides input to application design to support system modifications or enhancements, as evidenced creating functional specifications, assisting end users in developing system requirements, and documenting system/user procedures in accordance with Technology Services standards. Responds to and supports system issues/requests and communicates with end user on status and closure of tickets as evidenced by following documented on call, downtime, and request for service procedures in accordance with Technology Services documentation standards
Assists in conducting system investigation to determine general feasibility, cost and alternative system solutions as evidenced by interviewing users to define requirements and objectives of automation, in accordance with established policy. Participates in ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of major systems, follows all Change Control and Security procedures in accordance with Technology Services and audit standards. Provides input to impact present and or proposed systems have/will have on the organization as evidenced by detailed cost/benefit, statistical and impact analysis
Participates in testing which may include preparation of test scripts and conversion plans as well as validation of test results and obtains end-user acceptance sign-off in accordance with Technology Services documentation standards
Provides input and assists end users in development of departmental policies and procedures as it relates to the application. Adheres to applications security and control procedures in accordance with departmental, vendor, and regulatory bodies. Assists in educating end users on requirements and policies as they relate to these procedures
Supports departmental processes such as project management as evidenced by project planning, problem resolution, change control, and quality assurance in accordance with established policies. Participates in task force meetings or work groups which may include writing meeting minutes and project correspondence. Consults with management and senior staff to validate timeline and provides status on tasks and completion in order to meet project timelines
Develops system documentation as evidenced by completed policy, procedures and system specifications, in accordance with Technology Services documentation standards
Participates in vendor demos, site visits, and reference calls as evidenced by completion of demo scripts and reference call questionnaires, in accordance with IS documentation standards
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree; or HS Diploma/GED and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
1 year experience in supporting, developing, analyzing manual and automated system needs in a healthcare environment
Preferred
Foundational understanding of common IT concepts and terminology preferred
IT certification, such as CCNA or comparable, preferred
