Robotics Algorithm Engineer (AMR / AGV Navigation & Scheduling)

Brighture Inc. is focused on developing an in-house navigation and scheduling stack for their commercial AMR system. The Robotics Algorithm Engineer will work on real robots to design and implement algorithms for navigation, scheduling, and system-level delivery, ensuring stability and efficiency in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, or optimize AMR navigation algorithms, including: Localization (LiDAR / Odometry / Sensor Fusion), Path planning & motion planning, Obstacle avoidance and recovery behaviors
Improve system robustness in real environments: Localization drift, Narrow passages and dynamic obstacles, Long-duration operation stability
Work closely with system and application engineers to engineer algorithms into production-ready systems
Design or improve fleet-level algorithms, including: Task assignment, Multi-robot path conflict handling, Deadlock / livelock detection and recovery, Resource contention (intersections, narrow aisles, shared stations)
Implement practical, explainable, and stable strategies, prioritizing reliability over theoretical optimality
Collaborate with: Navigation system, Scheduling / fleet manager, Low-level control systems (PLC / motor controllers)
Diagnose and distinguish: Algorithmic issues, System architecture limitations, Engineering or integration problems
Continuously improve system behavior using logs, metrics, and real robot data

Required

Strong foundation in robotics or automation algorithms
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: Navigation / SLAM / Localization
Motion planning / Path planning
Multi-robot systems or fleet scheduling
Solid math background (linear algebra, probability, basic optimization)
Experience with ROS or ROS2
Proven ability to deploy and debug algorithms on real robots in production or field environments

Preferred

AMR / AGV / warehouse robotics experience
Experience with Nav2, MoveBase, or custom navigation stacks
Fleet management or traffic control systems
Familiarity with: Kalman Filters or graph optimization
Costmaps, behavior trees
Experience designing failure detection and recovery mechanisms in production systems
