URBAN REHABILITATION INSPECTOR II (SR-21) [1 vacancy]
NEOGOV is hiring an Urban Rehabilitation Inspector II within the Department of Community Services. Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate inspectors to ensure work meets codes and rehabilitation standards
Inspect properties and advise owners on repairs and improvements
Check and verify rehabilitation work and contractor invoices
Handle complex cases and resolve disputes between homeowners, contractors, and staff
Coordinate with other programs and agencies to ensure compliance
Perform other related duties as needed
Qualification
Required
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education
Three (3) years of experience in inspecting or supervising building construction work
Must be able to understand materials, work practices and processes used in construction and maintenance of structures and appurtenances
Must be able to follow Federal, State and local laws, codes, ordinances and standards relating to construction
Must be able to apply building and related codes and ordinances of the City and County of Honolulu
Must be able to detect property deficiencies and make sound recommendations for improvement
Must be able to interpret and apply plans and specifications, building and related codes
Must be able to understand laws, rules and regulations pertaining to construction and rehabilitation
Possession of a valid driver's license (type 3/automobile), prior to appointment
