Responsibilities

Patrol and enforce parking regulations in City employee and public parking areas, issue citations, coordinate towing, and ensure proper meter function
Maintain safety and order by directing traffic, responding to disturbances or emergencies, and acting as a first responder when needed
Support motor pool operations by assigning vehicles, directing parking, refueling, scheduling maintenance, and delivering City vehicles
Assist the public and City employees by providing information, guidance, and support on parking, facilities, and City policies
Document and report incidents through accurate recordkeeping, incident reports, and, when necessary, court testimony
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed for this position

Required

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education
One year of work experience involving public contact
Valid registration as a Guard with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives and Guards (i.e., possession of a valid State of Hawaii Guard license), at time of application
Possession of a valid driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment
Possession of a special police commission prior to completion of probation. During the probationary period, selectees shall be fingerprinted, photographed, and subject to a background investigation by the Honolulu Police Department
U.S. Citizen
21 years of age or older
Any person convicted of a felony, or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, or of any criminal assault shall not be eligible for a special police commission

Preferred

General office and computer experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
