Responsibilities
Define and execute a multi-year IT and digital transformation roadmap aligned with institutional goals
Act as a strategic advisor to the President, Provost, and senior leadership on technology investments and innovation
Lead modernization initiatives across academic, administrative, and research systems
Oversee enterprise systems including ERP (Student Information Systems, HR, Finance), LMS, CRM, and data platforms
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure, cloud, and on-prem environments
Drive adoption of emerging technologies including AI, analytics, and automation in higher education
Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (GLBA, FERPA, HIPAA, NY State regulations)
Lead incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning
Manage third-party risk and vendor security posture
Partner with faculty and academic leadership to support teaching, learning, and research technologies
Enable hybrid learning, digital classrooms, and instructional innovation
Support data-informed decision-making across academic and administrative units
Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing IT teams
Own IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization
Manage strategic vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CIO, VP IT, or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience in Higher Education IT (college, university, or academic medical center strongly preferred)
Strong background in ERP & SIS platforms
Strong background in Cloud & infrastructure modernization
Strong background in Cybersecurity & compliance
Strong background in Enterprise architecture & IT governance
12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
Proven success managing enterprise IT operations at scale
Strong knowledge across IT infrastructure
Strong knowledge across Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Strong knowledge across Cybersecurity frameworks
Strong knowledge across Networking & systems architecture
Strong knowledge across ERP and enterprise applications
Strong knowledge across Helpdesk & NOC operations
Experience managing technology for multi-site, hybrid, or global teams
Ability to convert strategy into actionable delivery
Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills
Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline

Preferred

Experience with automation, or analytics-driven optimization is a plus
