Online Primary Islamic & Cambridge Teachers (Part-Time, Remote)
Andalus International School of Qur'an & AI is a bilingual, Qur'an-centric online school that combines Islamic education with a Cambridge-aligned curriculum. They are seeking part-time online teachers for primary grades to lead Qur'an memorization, teach Arabic, and deliver Cambridge Primary STEM subjects, ensuring a culturally responsive and ethical learning environment.

Responsibilities
Plan and teach daily Qur'an sessions for Grades 1–5 with guided practice built into the timetable
Deliver short tafsir mini-lessons aligned to weekly themes, drawing practical rulings and character lessons from Tafseer al-Qurtubi
Coordinate with Arabic, fiqh, and hadith teachers to align vocabulary, concepts, and assessment tasks
Use the online learning platform to track memorization, correct recitation, revision, and short formative assessments
Teach Arabic-from-zero phonics, handwriting, and beginner reading to pupils with diverse backgrounds
Pre-teach key vocabulary from Qur'an and Tafseer al-Qurtubi, and provide bilingual supports such as glossaries and sentence frames
Assess fluency regularly and adjust groupings for targeted practice
Collaborate with Qur'an, fiqh, and hadith staff so that language work reinforces Islamic studies
Design scenario-based lessons linked to Tafseer al-Qurtubi units (e.g., tahārah, ṣalāh, adab)
Introduce simple concepts of evidence, usūl al-fiqh, and qawā‘id fiqhiyyah in culturally-responsive ways
Develop short quizzes and activities inside the learning platform that reinforce correct practice
Work closely with Qur'an, Arabic, and hadith teachers to ensure coherent formation
Select a small set of child-culturally-responsive hadith for memorization and practice, organized around daily routines and manners
Connect hadith directly to tafsir units so that pupils see Qur'an and Sunnah together
Introduce very simple ideas of isnād, matn, and trustworthy narrators using stories and diagrams
Use the learning platform to track participation and share simple practice prompts with families
Plan and deliver short, interactive online lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary frameworks
Design simple investigations and projects that can be completed with household-safe materials
Use AI tools under strict guidelines to help pupils visualise concepts, give feedback, and iterate on their work, without replacing teacher judgment
Prepare pupils progressively for later Cambridge assessments (Progression tests, Checkpoint, and ultimately IGCSE/A-Level)
Qualification
Required
Relevant Master's degree in the subject being taught from a known orthodox Sunni institution of theological learning (or in the process of completing such a Master's)
Fluent in both English and Modern Standard Arabic (fuṣḥā), spoken and written
Relevant bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., mathematics, science, engineering, computing)
Fluent in English, spoken and written
Recognized teacher training (e.g., QTS, PGCE or equivalent) is mandatory
Primary level teaching experience in an institution
Preferred
Experience teaching primary Muslim children online
Recognized teacher training (e.g., QTS, PGCE or equivalent) is strongly preferred
Familiarity with classical Islamic pedagogy (e.g., Ibn Jamā‘ah, al-Zarnūjī)
Experience teaching Cambridge Primary online and preparing pupils for progression assessments
