Pediatric Consultation Liaison Psychologist, Pediatric Psychology, Department of Pediatrics

UVA Health School of Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical track faculty psychologist to develop and direct a Behavioral Consult-Liaison Service and provide outpatient services. The role involves psychological evaluations, short term interventions, and teaching responsibilities within a collaborative pediatric environment.

Responsibilities

Behavioral CL program development and leadership in collaboration with our current CL psychologist
Providing psychological evaluations for children and adolescents admitted for a variety of medical and surgical concerns, including functional disorders and youth with eating disorders or suicidal ideation who are awaiting placement for more intensive psychiatric services
Conducting short term interventions for youth admitted to the medical units or awaiting placement in the emergency department
Providing consultation to medical and interprofessional teams
Providing outpatient psychological evaluation and treatment for youth in an integrated subspecialty medical setting or in a new outpatient behavioral health clinic. There is a preference for a psychologist to work with gastrointestinal concerns such as functional abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, and rumination disorder; we are open to other specialties as well. (20%)

Required

PhD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program
Completed an APA-accredited internship
Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia
Demonstrate cultural humility
Skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment
Training in clinical child and pediatric psychology

Preferred

Post-doctoral experience in pediatric consultation liaison
