Administrative Assistant - Lead Counselor - High School (2026-27)
Clear Creek ISD is seeking an Administrative Assistant to facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school’s counseling center. The role involves performing office routines, managing student records, and assisting with college-related processes while engaging in actions that contribute to the overall mission of the district.
Education
Responsibilities
Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office (e.g., correspondence, telephone, scheduling, mail distribution, etc.)
Exercise good telephone etiquette; take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff; answer questions relating to scholarships, SAT, ACT, THEA, admission testing schedules, evening meetings, college night, awards night, and other counselor-related duties
Establish and maintain files and provide information from the files such as student records, teacher records, extracurricular activities
Maintain confidential student post-secondary endeavors
Manage credit by exam process
Assist students with paperwork
Supervise student office workers
Type and prepare NMSQT applications
Prepare and copy all college related testing and registration information
Update forms; anticipate work needs; order and distribute supplies; administer projects effectively
Assist with design and annual update of school profile
Maintain and organize student college application files and tracking system
Schedule college representatives’ visits
Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for head counselor

Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD
Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth

Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications
Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students
Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities
Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor
Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers
Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met
Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer, typing, word processing, and spreadsheets skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Minimum of 5 years secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment
