RecSports Student Assistant - Sport Programs Intern

The University of Florida is seeking a Sport Programs Intern to join their Department of Recreational Sports. The intern will assist in organizing and scheduling Sport Club events, act as a liaison between the Sport Clubs and the RecSports Department, and collaborate closely with the Sport Programs Department.

Responsibilities

Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants, and guests
Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service: accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere
Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador
Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities
Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post- incident procedures
All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons, develop each team member, and prepare student employees for future career endeavors
Serve as a liaison to select sport clubs, their officers, and coaches with weekly communication
Attendance at biweekly meetings and monthly leadership seminars
Serve as a liaison to officers to select sport clubs on a weekly basis
Proactively communicate between all 50 sport clubs and their members
Assist club officers in the planning, organizing, and implementing of special events, tournaments, games, and practices

Required

Interest in sports, recreation, fitness, and campus involvement
Availability to work three permanent 2-hour shifts, at minimum, each week
Demonstrates communication, organizational, technological, and leadership skills
Complete and maintain UF online certifications in GET803, OOC101, PRV802, ITT102, GET811
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average
Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week
