Data Center Energy Marshall
PTS Advance is seeking a Data Center Energy Marshall to lead electrical safety for large Data Center construction projects. The role involves overseeing energy control, lockout/tagout (LOTO) processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Lead or review NFPA 70E and other required electrical safety training
Train and supervise Deputy Energy Marshals, LOTO Managers, and LOTO Coordinators
Confirm that anyone working on energized or de-energized equipment is a properly qualified worker
Run pre-energization meetings and make sure all steps and risks are identified before work begins
Give final approval for all energization work
Review and approve LOTO plans and make sure only approved plans are used
Review and update single-line drawings, and make sure workers understand the systems they're working on
Ensure all pre-energization inspections (contractor, owner, manufacturer) are complete
Confirm FOD (foreign object debris) inspections before energization and anytime equipment is re-entered
Monitor tamper seals, access controls, and safety barriers during energization and commissioning
Verify proper switch, breaker, and grounding/earthing positions before energizing
Attend and oversee all medium- and high-voltage switching activities
Lead audits and inspections to ensure the Energy Control Plan (ECP) and LOTO Program are being followed
Lead the ECP Task Force and serve as the subject matter expert for ECP compliance
Manage MOPs (Methods of Procedure), including reviews, planning, and execution support
Run MOP/ECP meetings and track progress
Review and approve pre-energization paperwork for MOPs and APs
Support weekly project schedules with MOP work planning
Lead root-cause investigations when energy control issues occur
Qualification

Ability to balance strict safety requirements with practical decision-making
Strong electrical background, ideally in fast-paced data center construction
Experience writing, reviewing, and executing MOPs for critical power systems
Understanding of data center operations and redundancy
NFPA 70E training (required)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to read line drawings and design effective LOTO systems
Prior experience in an Energy Marshal or energy management role for data centers
Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments (some projects last years)
Ability to work nights or weekends when project needs require it
Preferred
OSHA 10/30 is a plus
Licensed Electrician or Electrical Engineer strongly preferred
