Senior Vice President, Community & Capital Partnerships

The Senior Vice President, Community & Capital Partnerships is responsible for creating the physical, financial, and relational infrastructure necessary for the organization to thrive as a durable, place-anchored entity while maintaining a remote-first approach.
Responsibilities
The SVP owns the Delano HQ end-to-end — from first conversation to keys-in-hand
Secure capital partner(s) for property acquisition or development
Secure community partner(s) underwriting:
Lease obligations
Operating expenses
Long-term stability (5–10+ year horizon)
Municipal leadership
Economic development authorities
Banking partners
Developers, landlords, and legal counsel
Property SPVs or ownership entities
Lease, sponsorship, or donation agreements
Clean separation of Company vs. Foundation activities
Governance-protective structures that retain control
Deliver a fully executable headquarters that anchors:
Multiple operating entities
Consulting operations
Community presence
Long-term organizational permanence
Build a scalable framework for future HQs and sub-HQs in aligned communities
Establish standards for:
Civic sponsorship models
Founding partner recognition
Long-term operating underwriting
Evaluate and prioritize future locations based on:
Relationship depth
Strategic importance
Financial and community readiness
Serve as the primary steward of long-term community partnerships
Represent the organization publicly in place-based negotiations
Franchise capital leaders
Subsidiary capitalization leads
Consulting company leadership
Franchise investment and co-ownership structures
Subsidiary capitalization events
Asset-backed and revenue-backed financing
Capital-enabled consulting growth
Speed without sloppiness
Control without arrogance
Alignment without bureaucracy
Authorized to originate, negotiate, and structure deals
Direct access to Founder/CEO
Expected to operate independently and decisively
Trusted judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
Bonus eligibility for securing:
Community leases, sponsorships, or operating agreements beyond 10 years , including:
15-year
20-year
25-year
Or functionally perpetual / evergreen structures
Applies where agreements materially:
Reduce long-term operating risk
Anchor the organization permanently in a community
Eliminate or significantly defer future facility displacement
Payouts may be:
Lump-sum upon execution, or
Tiered by duration thresholds
Qualification
Required
Closed complex, multi-party deals
Experience with bankers
Experience with developers
Experience with municipal leadership
Experience with family offices or foundations
Exposure to real-estate or economic development projects
Exposure to franchise or multi-entity structures
Confidence asking for capital without apology
Discipline protecting governance and control
Bias toward execution over performance
Understanding that community trust is capital
Understanding that urgency and patience can coexist
Understanding that the best deals are boring on paper and powerful in reality
