Box Office Manager

Shakespeare & Company is a thriving center of creative and collaborative excellence in Actor Training, Performance, and Education. The Box Office Manager will assist with audience services, lead training in AudienceView, resolve patron and employee conflicts, and manage ticket orders and cash.

Responsibilities

Answering the Box Office phone
Filling orders by using Shakespeare & Company's online ticketing system
Maintaining Shakespeare & Company's patron database on the same system
Mailing Shakespeare & Company's season information
Training new employees
Taking a leadership role in daily and other financial reporting
The employee shall also be cross-trained to provide service, when requested, through: concessions sales; serving as liaison between Audience Services and the Box Office; performing House Management duties; supervising Volunteer greeters and usher teams, and ensuring theater cleanliness, security, audience comfort, and safety
Participating in I.D.E.A. training
Collaborating with other employees to create a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes safety and dignity

Be dependable and timely for scheduled shifts

Ability to work collaboratively with a team, and communicate clearly with others
Demonstrate a familiarity with Microsoft Office and with Square
Ability to sit, stand, and stoop; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data
Maintain a commitment to values of equity and inclusion and experience communicating effectively with groups of individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experiences
