Assistant Professor English

Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in U.S. literature and Queer Theory
Advise students on texts from both the nineteenth century and the twentieth century
Contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs
Participate in the university's Core Humanities Program and interdisciplinary studies programs as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in English or a closely related field or demonstrate clear progress toward completion by July 1, 2026
Present an active and promising research agenda
Show both experience and potential as an excellent teacher
Must be able to teach relevant courses
Possess an established research agenda in U.S. literature
Demonstrate expertise in Queer Theory
Preferred
A track record of campus programming or community engagement is preferred, including experience developing curriculum
