Executive Assistant Dean, Administration
The University of California, Davis is a prestigious institution, and they are seeking an Executive Assistant Dean to oversee the financial and administrative operations of the School of Veterinary Medicine. Qualification
Required
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
Master's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or similar field
A minimum of ten years of high-level administrative experience within a large, complex environment at an institution of higher education
Skills in financial planning and analysis to manage financial operations that include significant budgets and varying fund sources. Skills to develop new business models and apply innovative organization development initiatives to continuously improve the school's ability to be nimble and innovative in the face of budgetary and other external pressures in higher education
Interpersonal and communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with diverse groups and individuals, secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems and communicate policy decisions. Skills in explaining information clearly and communicating decisions through excellent presentation and communication
Proficiency and demonstrated skill and knowledge of automated accounting and budgeting systems, internal budget and business control standards/practices, and the development of financial/business policies and procedures to maintain stability and manage effectively within a large organization
Skills in identifying and utilizing employee strengths, while supporting the development of new competencies in an exciting and dynamic environment, plus skills in achieving goals through promoting collaboration and team building and work cooperatively with peers, employees and faculty
Advanced project management skills to manage strategic initiatives including capital and revenue generating projects
Preferred
Experience leading and managing at an institution of higher education, preferably in the public sector
Experience and proven track record as an effective leader in the areas of strategic and tactical planning, human resources management, budget and financial management, facilities planning and administration and technology management
Knowledge and skill to effectively lead and manage in a higher education setting, specifically the University of California
Knowledge of the veterinary medical industry and veterinary medical higher education environments
