Responsibilities

Serve as the central point of contact for patients requiring follow-up after abnormal breast imaging results
Educate patients on procedures, biopsy expectations, results, follow-up care, and medications
Obtain informed consent for breast biopsies and support patients throughout the process
Coordinate diagnostic testing, biopsies, MRIs, and outside surgical consults
Communicate pathology results to patients and providers with clarity and compassion
Collaborate with radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, oncology teams, and navigators to ensure continuity of care
Triage and evaluate patient concerns pre- and post-biopsy, including complications
Attend tumor board meetings and support imaging and procedure coordination
Assist during adverse reactions (e.g., vasovagal episodes, lidocaine toxicity)
Maintain quality documentation and uphold HIPAA compliance

Qualification

Active RN licenseBLS certificationOncology experienceBreast Navigator CertificationMammography workflowsPatient advocacyCoordination skillsCommunication skills

Required

Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
BLS certification
Associate Degree in Nursing (required for hires after 7/1/2018)

Preferred

Oncology and/or Women's Wellness experience
Familiarity with mammography and breast imaging workflows
Breast Navigator Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
