ANALYST II

The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Analyst II to work in an outreach environment, developing and coordinating outreach workplans. The role involves creating collateral materials, assisting in consumer outreach efforts, and leading program activities at various meetings and events.

Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate and implement outreach workplans
Develop collateral materials and processes of outreach functions in the field
Assist the Manager of Community Relations and Outreach Southern California, Department of Insurance (CDI) and stakeholders in consumer outreach work including the development and implementation of outreach documents
Participate and lead program activities at meetings and events
Perform various duties within the office in preparation for outreach assignments
Maintain logs and records of event activities performed

Required

Experience working in an outreach environment
Strong communication skills
Ability to develop, coordinate and implement outreach workplans
Ability to develop collateral materials and processes of outreach functions in the field
Assistance in consumer outreach work including the development and implementation of outreach documents
Participation and leadership in program activities at meetings and events
Ability to perform various duties within the office in preparation for outreach assignments
Ability to maintain logs and records of event activities performed
Ability to work in a high-rise office building and out in the field, including outdoor events and facilities
Ability to lift 25 lbs. routinely during travel
Ability to travel, including overnight stays
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may interact with Legislature, consumer group representatives and consumers
Ability to work overtime if required

Preferred

Extensive program and project management experience, including managing multiple projects with extensive work with elected officials and staff
Willingness to assume the most complex duties and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet quick deadlines
Ability to gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted in the course of the work, particularly local and state legislative offices and consumers at large
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to perform both independently and in a cooperative team environment
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information and express ideas in a clear, confident, and convincing manner
