Goodarzi Lab - Junior/Assistant Specialist - Computational
The Goodarzi Lab at UCSF’s Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is an interdisciplinary research group focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis. They are seeking a Junior or Assistant Specialist to assist in building computational pipelines and implementing data analytical models, playing an integral role in advancing knowledge of cancer biology and genomics.

Responsibilities
Performing standard genomic and transcriptomic analyses
Building customized model for functional genomic platforms
Implementing and routinely documenting accessible pipelines for the community
Qualification
Required
Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) in Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or at least four years of research experience
Master's degree (or equivalent degree) or a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) with three or more years of research experience
Deep proficiency in molecular cancer biology
Knowledge of, or experience with, basic techniques and methods required by the position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage time and multitask effectively
Ability to adhere to all campus safety policies
Preferred
Experience coding in bash, Python and/or R environments
Experience with Bioconductor packages
