Responsibilities
Oversee and review the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper account structure
Lead and streamline the month-end close process, including reconciliations and journal entries
Review and finalize monthly financial statements (property-level and consolidated)
Ensure GAAP compliance and consistency in real estate accounting
Partner with accounting staff to resolve backlog, clean up balances, and improve close timelines
Coordinate with external accountants and tax providers as needed
Implement light process improvements and controls to support ongoing operations
Qualification
Required
10+ years of accounting/finance leadership experience
Prior CFO, Interim CFO, Controller, or Senior Accounting leadership background
Strong real estate accounting experience
Deep expertise in GL management and month-end close
Preferred
CPA or similar credential preferred
