Responsibilities

Designing and building API endpoints
Improving database and query performance
Integrating with a wide range of third-party services
Translating product requirements into reliable business logic
Diagnosing and resolving customer issues
Contributing to making the platform faster, more stable, and easier to use
Collaborating with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable backend solutions

Required

5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with time spent building external-facing APIs or designing integrations with 3rd party systems
Embodies hustle and grit, excellent at their craft and relentless in pursuing it
Takes full ownership of work and drives projects to completion with minimal oversight
Communicates proactively, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, keeping stakeholders in the loop
Thrives on experimentation: comfortable testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly on problems no one has solved before
Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
Knows Python (our main stack), though we're open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds
Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments
Comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL

Preferred

Experience with LLMs/generative AI
Experience with distributed systems
