Responsibilities
Operates punch press equipment to manufacture plastic discs or gaskets
Following standard methods and techniques, processes materials to ensure it meets SQF Food Safety and Quality Codes, product specifications and any special instructional customer specific requirements
Properly and safely set up and/or break down production equipment
Monitors press operation, adjusts settings, and troubleshooting issues
Packages finish product
Inspects product for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and adjusts machine to correct errors
Performs dimensional measurements using a micrometer, caliper, scale as required
Removes and/or sorts recycled and non-recycled materials to trash or transfer bins
Actively participates in the continuous improvement process (CIP)
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of previous experience operating punch presses or similar manufacturing machinery
Must be available to be trained on 1st shift (8:00 am - 4:30 pm) for the first 2 months of employment or until is fully trained
Ability to read and follow work orders, and use measuring tools (micrometer, caliper, etc.)
Must be mechanically inclined: hands-on skills with basic tools, visualizing how component fit together, ability to disassemble, reassemble simple mechanisms
Strong attention to detail
Basic math and computer skills
Ability on using industrial barcode scanners
Physical ability to lift/move materials (up to 50 lbs.), standing for long periods and perform repetitive motions
