Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering design for utility, plumbing, HVAC, and process systems, particularly in food & beverage or industrial facilities
Design and layout high- and low-pressure water, chilled water, steam, condensate, thermal fluid, compressed air, vacuum, and other utility systems
Develop calculations, technical drawings (AutoCAD 2D), and 3D models (Revit) of mechanical systems
Evaluate field conditions, collect data, and ensure design meets operational requirements
Mentor and guide other mechanical engineers within the team
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and cross-disciplinary engineers to achieve project objectives
Ensure projects meet budgets, schedules, and quality standards
Continuously improve processes through feedback and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
10–20 years of facility mechanical system design and engineering experience
Strong knowledge of ASME codes, USDA/FDA/OSHA/ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices
Proven ability to interpret specifications and technical documentation with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to quality
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
