Responsibilities
Verifying patient identity and physician orders
Using x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs
Explaining procedures to patients while addressing their concerns
Proper positioning of patients, including those with limited mobility
Safe handling of radiologic equipment with minimal radiation exposure
Vigilant observation tailored to age-specific patient needs
Ensuring high-quality diagnostic images are produced for Radiologist interpretation
Reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly
Maintaining accurate records through electronic patient information systems
Adhering to dual patient identifier protocols
Qualification
Required
Degree in Radiologic Technology
Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification)
Minimum 1+ years X-Ray experience
Completion of formal radiologic technology training
Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Valid New York State license or ability to obtain one before starting
Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-ray Technologist
Ability to lift or move patients
Ability to stand for extended periods
Strong analytical skills
Effective communication skills
Compassionate demeanor
Teamwork aptitude
Ability to respond within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience using C-arm/O-arm equipment within the past 8 months
Preferred
Experience with Level 1 trauma center exposure
