Responsibilities
Verify patients identity and review physician orders prior to conducting x-ray procedures
Operate x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs according to prescribed orders
Clearly explain procedures to patients and address their questions, ensuring a comfortable experience
Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility, to achieve optimal imaging results
Safely handle radiologic equipment, minimizing radiation exposure to patients
Monitor patient status, applying age-appropriate care and interpreting necessary information
Generate high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists
Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to management
Use electronic patient information systems to verify exam details and maintain accurate records
Practice dual patient identifier procedures to ensure patient safety
Qualification
Required
Degree in Radiologic Technology
Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification)
Minimum 1+ years X-Ray experience
Completion of formal training from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current or eligible New York State licensure
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist
Experience in a Level 1 trauma center
Proficient in using c-arm/o-arm equipment within the past 8 months
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to physically assist patients and stand for extended periods
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Compassionate demeanor and a collaborative team player mindset
Capacity to respond to on-call shifts within 30 minutes
